Photo Tags for Christmas Gifts

Here's my reoccurring project that I've been doing for the past 4 years every Christmas. This is sooo cute and special. Trust me, the people receiving their gifts with their own photo on it LOVE IT!!! I'll be adding the instructions on how to make these hopefully by this weekend but the photos are in my Craft Inspirations and DIY tab. As you can tell from my blog, adding pictures on things makes it just so much better.

Puppy Love

She's such a sweet mommy....she's good about letting us near her.
I always said I wanted to have puppies but this was a great surprise! My mother-in-law lives outside of Fort Worth and has a good size amount of land. She noticed a stray and scrawny dog roaming around. It was extremely skinny and looked like she was starving. She's such a softy for dogs (she already has 3 dogs of her own that live inside the house,)  so she quickly asked EVERYONE if they would take her in...and of course no one wanted poor little Red (that's what they are calling her.) So after about a month of feeding her, we all noticed that she is gaining weight...quickly!!! We thought, wow, they are over feeding this hefty pup, hehehe. She has been hanging around the neighborhood for a few weeks when all of a sudden she went missing and my mother-in-law went looking for her. She found Red under their storage shed along with about 8 itty bitty puppies! (We can't count them since they're out of reach, there might be more!!!) So here they are...aren't they so cute! Now, we are needing help finding future owners. They should probably be good to go to a new owner in about 6-7 weeks from today. So please spread the word if you live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and contact me if you are interested or know someone who is.

Love them so much, but I need y'alls help!
Wayne had to pull me away from the shed...I didn't want to leave them.

Mommy Dog, she's very well behaved.

What!?!? Photos on Metal!

Ok, so I really wanted to justify buying a whole jar of Gel Medium after doing my Photos on Wood and I tried researching online what else to use it on. I found some tutorial for glass (which I might do later on down the road) and some more projects on wood. Well, that wasn’t different enough for me…so I decided to experiment...HA! Check out my Craft Inspirations and DIY tab to find out how to make it. BTW, the metal shingle only costed me 33 cents! It looks really cool.

How to Put Photos on Wood

Well, it feels like forever that I've posted anything on my blog...I can't believe summer is coming to an end. I am just finishing up my latest project, Photos on wood. I had no idea that it would come out in color but to my surprise it did! I found this idea on pinterest but finally decided to do some. Check out the Craft Inspirations and DIY! Make sure you use regular paper (not photo paper) and use a laser printer (not an inkjet printer,) it's a common question I'm getting.

Yucky Ceiling Fan

So, as you can see, my ceiling fans REALLY needed to be cleaned...YUCK!!! I have one of those special bristled brushes made for fan blades but it just makes the dust go EVERYWHERE. I saw on pinterest that you can use a pillow case but I also sprayed some dusting spray so that it would really look good and so that the dust would cling onto the pillowcase. I was amazed how cleaned it looked...I did the other fans in the house immediately!
I used an old flannel pillowcase I haven't used in years which worked perfect for this job. I sprayed the inside with Pledge and then I got up onto of my bed and placed the fan blade inside like it was a sock. I kind of was rubbing the p.c. while it was on so that I can get the under side good and around the brackets. Slowly pull off and Ta Da!!! Minimal dust fell down...YAY! I went ahead and washed my linens afterwards just to make sure...sans pillow case of course...haha.

4th of July Yummy S'more Pops

Here's my specialty....these yummy S'more Pops. They are super fun to make and easy. Everyone loves how they don't get their fingers dirty and full of chocolate/marshmallowy mess after eating them.

You’ll need:
Marshmallows
Graham Crackers
Chocolate
Lollipop sticks/Desert sticks
Kitchen Torch or Candle

1.   Melt your chocolate in a little bowl on low power in the microwave for 45 seconds. Stir chocolate.
2. Dip half of marshmallow into melted chocolate.
3. Dip into crumbled graham crackers.
4. Place them on wax paper and refrigerate for about 30 minutes to harden chocolate.
5. Remove from refrigerator and use a kitchen torch (not very common, haha) or an unscented candle to roast the other half of the marshmallow.
6.   Place stick in marshmallow and enjoy!!!!

How-To for my Dinner Menu Board

It's now up and in good use! It's already been so helpful in my house. In the Craft Inspirations and DIY tab, you will find how I made so you can get an idea. Make it cute, pretty and make it YOURS!!! If you are naturally super organized, you might not need this but I sure did, haha! Don't you hate when you plan your meals for the week while shopping and when it comes down to making your meal you forgot to buy something....ugh! I really needed a menu board since I'm a little forgetful at times, hehehe.
I admit...I need to add more embellishments to it, but I'm waiting until I come across something I really like rather than just throw some on there. Since this project has lots of steps, I decided to make the more detailed instructions available on Google Docs.
Remember when you are making yours, do it to fit your personality and customize it however you want. I fell in love with these colors and I didn't realize that it ended up matching my dining room...ha!

My Dinner Menu Board

Alright...I've been working on my Menu Board this week. I can't tell you how badly I need one! I'm so forgetful when I'm at the grocery store so hopefully this will help, hehe! I think I need some more embellishments so it's not completely done. As soon as I'm done gathering the pictures, I'll post how I made it.

Family Day and Some Horses

We had a blast spending time with our family the other day. First we went over Wayne's uncle's house and he has the prettiest horses! I so want some one day when we live out in the country. And what else do people do when they are with family...EAT!!! Yup, we are soon going to double our size...hahaha. Then after throwing the football around a while and hanging with them, we headed to my  brother's house and ate some more! We're so blessed to have such wonderful families.

Quick Trip to See Georgia Peaches

Our bags were packed as soon as we had the opportunity to visit some of Wayne’s family that live just outside of Atlanta.  Although it was a LONG way to drive, it sure was fun and I’m ready to go again! It took us about 20 hours just to get there from the time we left our house…and that’s just one way :-P
Unfortunately, we did not have enough time in Georgia but we did zoom over to the Georgia Aquarium, the world’s largest aquarium, and I was in AWW. I felt like a kid in there and had to be pulled out of there by Wayne.
I touched a manta ray, sharks, and a star fish!
Look how big the whale shark looks
compared to everyone.
Right above my head
At the world's biggest aquarium.
We also strolled around the
famous Centennial Olympic Park

The next day, we stuffed our brains out with the best food EVER at their family get together with the best Georgians, I'm glad I got to meet Wayne's maternal grandmother's side. The state is beautiful just like these people.

Midget Wrestling

My first thought was “this should be interesting!” What a shock to hear that Midget Wrestling exists and that we were going to actually go for my brother-in-law’s birthday. You know that feeling when you have been smiling so much that your cheeks hurt…well, that was how I was ALL night long. This was my first wrestling experience ever, I never watched it on TV or cared too much about it, I use to call it soap operas for men. But when you add 6 little people in the ring at one time (although one seemed like a short regular man), entertainment value goes way, way up. They were so awesome interacting with the audience, glad they didn’t pick on me though, haha!

Our 5 Year Anniversary

I can't believe it's been 5 years since I married my best friend. We both know how truly blessed we are to have this strong, soul-touching love. I hope we have another 100 years like these past 5.  Our real celebration was our trip to San Antonio last week but we also went out to dinner on our anniversary to Simply Fondue in downtown Fort Worth...it was Ah-mazing!!!  The general manager gave us the best seat in the house and the ambiance was so romantic, perfect restaurant for lovers to dine. But the best part was the chocolate fondue at the end of course. I'm such a chocoholic :-) I found a couple of pictures of our wedding day on my laptop so here's a glimpse from the past. I wonder what the next five years hold for us!!!

Go Mavs Go!

About two weeks ago, I won some tickets  to my all time favorite team, the Dallas Mavericks for Tuesday's game. Those who know me, know my love for Dirk. I really am not a sports fan, but don't mess with my Mavs. Wayne and I were so excited just to go that we didn't care that the seats were up in the nose-bleed, ha! They won of course.

Our Trip to San Antonio

Well, Wayne and I wanted to spend our 5 year anniversary out of town and we wanted to make sure we got to chill and have fun since we do act like kids sometimes, hehe! San Antonio has a special place for the both of us and there's always adventure. Every Texan needs to go down there and if you're not a Texan, it's a great way to be a temporary Texan...YEE HAW!!!

I really do love road trips, especially since I love to sing my heart out to my favorite songs on my iPhone. Poor Wayne, he says he loves to hear me sing, even though I get most of the words wrong, but I don't care...so much fun!!! We left Friday morning and our first adventure was a sign of a great and unforgettable start, haha.
Only in Texas...pig runs lose on the highway.
Greatness!
Yup, we saw a huge pig running around! It took two men about 15 minutes to get him back on the trailer but it was worth it. Traffic towards Austin was horrible like always but we made the best of it. We saw the state capitol, but Wayne had a little surprise for me that I had absolutely no idea. My romantic hubby surprised me with an awesome picnic!!! I had no idea he packed a cooler for us and he led us to this amazing park called Mount Bonnell. We were up high with a beautiful view of the river, native plants like bluebonnets and huge mansions. What a sweetie! Now wonder the last 5 years have been a blast for me. I'm so in LOVE!!!

Breathtaking views at Mount Bonnell

We then headed towards SA. We finally made it to our hotel, which was right on the Riverwalk and straight across from the Alamo...couldn't have been more perfect of a location. Nothing beats the walks down at the Riverwalk in the evenings stopping for a couple of margaritas, yum yum!

The highlights of our trip in San Antonio were the Segways, fo sho! We took a Segway Tour and zoomed around town. We did a Segway tour in Paris and absolutely loved it. Can it get any better than this? I think not!  I so want one, ok, I guess 2 for the both of us, hehe.
Definitely gonna remember the Alamo, ha!
Wayne got a Captain America Seg, lol.
Sportin' my cool helmet...Safety First!

We didn't want to stop there so we rented some bikes from these kiosks that they have all over the city. We brushed up our riding skills and went all around SA. The weather couldn't have been any better, I get hot easily :-P
Riding around Hemisphere Park

Then we had to say adios to San Antonio. Hopefully it wont be long that we come back.
